(April 30, 2003) - UCR sophomore
Michelle Beyronneau was named second team All-Big West and
the doubles team of Beyronneau and freshman Casey Cross received
second team honors Wednesday.
Beyronneau spent the entire
season at No. 1 for UCR, posting a 13-13 overall mark and
a 9-10 record in dual matches. In doubles play, the No. 1
team of Beyronneau and Cross finished 14-11 overall, 11-10
in dual match play.
(January 7, 2003) - Kim
T. Tran of Mater Dei High School has signed a National Letter
of Intent with the University of California Riverside, UCR
Head Coach Mark Henry announced Tuesday.
“We are very happy
to have signed Kim to a scholarship for next fall,”
Henry said. “She is an aggressive baseliner with a good
serve and lots of potential for her game to continue to improve.
She will immediately help the depth of the team. She is a
very bright young lady and will fit in nicely.”
Tran will graduate from
Mater Dei in the spring. While attending Pacifica High School
she was Garden Grove League Singles Champion in 1999 and 2000.
She was Serra League Singles Champion in 2001 and advanced
to the CIF semi-finals in 2001. The 5-5 right-hander was ranked
#37 in SCTA girls 16's in 2001.
(Oct. 10, 2003) - Casey
Cross and Michelle Beyronneau each advanced to the second
round of singles play and combined to to win both first and
second round in doubles in the first of the three-day Cal
State Fullerton Tournament.
Cross defeated Amber Ray
of UCLA in the first round, 6-0, 6-0, then defeated Lise Sissler
of Peperdine, 62-6-3. She will face Nicole Bouffler of Long
Beach State Saturday. Beyronneau defeated Kristen Wilson of
UCSB in the first round, 6-0, 6-1, then topped Olga Yepremian
of Northridge, 6-1, 6-3. She will face Karin Schapbach of
Pepperdine Saturday.
In doubles play, Beyronneau
and Cross defeated Fransinska and Myinttun of CSN, 8-2 in
the opener and Argumedo and Katayama of LBSU, 8-4. They will
play Dickes and Schapbach of Pepperdine Saturday.
Senior Kelly Takeshita lost
her first round match to Lindsey Marvel of LBSU, 6-1, 6-1.
Kim Tran fell in the first round to Sandra Rocha, of LBSU,
7-6, 6-3.
In doubles play, Takeshita
and Carolyn Mitchell ost in the first round to Joshi/Yaftali
of UCLA, 8-3.
(Oct. 11, 2003) - Kim Tran
won two rounds of the singles consolation bracket, but both
Casey Cross and Michelle Beyronneau fell in third round play
in the main draw at the Cal State Fullerton Tournament Saturday.
Tran, who lost in the opening
round Friday, defeated Tracy Takeshita of CS Northridge, 8-2,
then beat Brooke Sutton of LBSU, 8-0.
Beyronneau lost to Karen
Schlapbach of Pepperdine, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, and Cross lost to
Nicole Bouffler of LBSU, 6-2, 6-3. Carolyn Mitchell fell in
the first round of the consolation round to Alanah Carroll
of LBSU, 8-2.
In doubles play, Beyronneau
and Cross lost in third round play, 8-6 to Schapbach and Dickes
of Pepperdine.
(Oct. 13, 2003) - Kim Tran reached
the semi-finals of the singles consolation of the Fullerton
Tournament Sunday, falling to the eventual winner of the bracket.
Tran opened the day with
an 8-5 win over Mai-Ly Tran of CS Fullerton and advanced to
play Leslie Damion of UC Santa Barbara. Against Damion, Tran
fell, 8-1, to end her tournament run.
(Oct.
23, 2003) - The UC Riverside women's tennis tandem of junior
Michelle Beyronneau and sophomore Casey Cross won their doubles
match to advance to the main draw of the ITA West Segional
in San Diego on Thursday.
Cross and Beyronneau defeated
their opponents from Cal State Northridge, 9-7, to earn a
berth in the main doubles draw. Both players are also scheduled
to play singles matches on Thursday as well.
Senior Kelley Takeshita
was defeated by Claudia Argumendo of Long Beach State, 6-3,
6-1, in her qualifying match.
(Oct. 26, 2003) - Michelle
Beyronneau was unable to advance further in the ITA West Regional
tournament in San Diego on Sunday. The consolation bracket
was cancelled due to the fires raging through the San Diego
area.
The main draw bracket was
postponed, but no make-up time ahs been set.
Beyronneau won a pair of
consolation round matches Saturday, defeating Amy Vyhnis (UCSB)
6-2. 6-2 in the first round and Ioana Sisoe (CSF) 6-1, 5-7,
6-2, in the second round.
Casey Cross withdrew from
the consolation bracket with an unspecified injury.
Beyronneau plays third round
of consolation Sunday at 10 am.
Earlier in the tournament,
Beyronneau and Cross were unable to win their first match
at the ITA West Regional in San Diego on Friday.
Beyronneau started with
a 7-6 win in the first set against San Diego State’s
Indra Erichsen, but then dropped the next two sets, 6-0 and
6-4.
Cross was unable to win
a set against her opponent Debbie Larocque of Arizona, dropping
both sets, 6-2 and 6-3.
In doubles, the pair was
unable to get past the tandem of Chang and Bentzer of UC Irvine,
losing, 8-1.
Beyronneau will play in the consolation bracket beginning
on Saturday.
(Nov. 1, 2003) - The UC
Riverside Highlanders' Carolyn Mitchell won her first round
match at the UCI Fall Invitational Saturday, but was the only
UCR player to get out of the first round unscathed.
Mitchell defeated Veronica
Fermin of UCI 3-6, 6-3 (10-7) in a hotly contested match.
The other four Highlanders were not so fortunate, as UCI's
Anna Bentzer defeated Michelle Beyronneau 6-4, 6-1, UCI's
Tiffany Chang defeted Kelley Takeshita 6-2, 6-0, UCI's Kristina
Boss defeated Kim Tran, 6-2, 6-4 and UCI's Natalie Jacobs
defeated Kristina Kim, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, the team
of Westerman and Dao from UCSD defeated Beronneau and Tran
9-7 and the team of Bronowicki and Ishii from UCSD defeated
Takeshita and Mitchell, 9-7.
The tournament continues
Sunday with the Highlanders playing UCSD in singles and UCI
in doubles.
(IRVINE, Calif.) –
The UC Riverside women’s tennis team won both doubles
matches against the University of San Francisco, but could
only manage one win in singles matches against UC San Diego
Sunday in the final day of the UC Irvine Fall Invitational.
The doubles team of Michelle
Beyronneau and Kim Tran topped the UCSD’s team of Pamart/Duncan,
8-2, and UCR’s pairing of Carolyn Mitchell and Kelley
Takeshita took care of Smith/Rader, 8-2, as well.
Tran was the only highlander to win her singles match, defeating
Julie Waterman, 6-3, 6-1.
Takeshita won her first
set, 3-1, but dropped the next one, 6-3, and lost 10-8, in
the tiebreaker against Marissa Hilker.
This was the team’s
last tournament of the fall and do not compete again until
January.

(Jan. 16, 2004) –The
UC Riverside women's tennis team finished 1-6 against Sacramento
State in the team's first competition of the Spring season.
The Highlanders (0-1) lone
win against the Hornets (1-0) came with Casey Cross defeating
Roberto Fessenko (6-2, 6-4) in singles.
The Hornets were able to
top UCR in five of six single matches from the Highlanders.
Freshman Anna Erikson defeated Michelle Beyronneau (6-0, 6-0),
junior Marta Gronowicz defeated Kim Tran (6-1, 6-0), senior
Ann Roslund defeated Kelley Takeshita (6-2, 6-2), senior Petra
Abraham defeated Carolyn Mitchell (6-0, 6-0), and junior Amanda
Sanches defeated Cabanilla (6-2, 6-4).
The Hornets swept all three
of the doubles matches from Riverside. Erikson/Fessenko defeated
Beyronneau/Cross (8-4), Marta/Roslund defeated Takeshita/Mitchell

(Feb. 3, 2004) –The
UC Riverside Highlanders got their first dual-match win of
the 2003-04 season with a 7-0 sweep of Cal Poly Pomona at
the UCR Tennis Courts Tuesday.
The Highlanders swept all
six singles matches and took two of the three doubles matches
to win the point.
UCR was dominant at the
bottom half of the singles matches, surrendering just one
game in the three matches. Kelley Takesthia won at No. 4,
6-0, 6-0 over Namor Dekermenjian, Carolyn Mitchell won at
No. 5, 6-1, 6-0 over Jennie Burgraff, and Catrisha Cabanilla
won at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0 over Erika Lin.

Kelley Takeshita's win in the second tiebreaker gave the UC
Riverside Highlanders a thrilling 4-3 win over the No. 75
ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in a Big West match at the
Student Recreation Center Tennis Courts in Riverside Saturday.
UCR is now 2-1, 1-0 and
UCSB is now 0-2, 0-1.
"Kelley worked hard
in the match. She made the shots when she had to," Head
Coach Mark Henry said. "Today was a team win. Everyone
contributed."
The Highlanders swept the
doubles matches to earn the point. In singles play, Michelle
Beyronneau and Kim Tran each won their matches, setting up
the decisive match between Takeshita and Leslie Damion. Takeshita
took the first set, 6-4, but had to battle Damion in the second
set. Takeshita won the match for UCR when she triumphed in
the second tie breaker.

(Feb. 10, 2004) - The UC
Riverside Women’s Tennis team received its first-ever
National Ranking of the Division I Era Tuesday, placing 75th
in the by-monthly poll conducted by the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association (ITA). The poll can be found on the ITA web site
at www.itatennis.com.
UCR (2-1, 1-0 in the Big
West) was one of three teams to enter the poll this week,
joining Jacksonville State and Utah. The Highlanders moved
into the poll on the strength of a 4-3 win over then No. 75
UC Santa Barbara in Riverside Saturday.
“I must say that I
was surprised, but very happy. It is a great honor for our
program, and now we will have to work harder to live up to
it,” Head Coach Mark Henry said. “When we beat
Santa Barbara, I had no idea that we would be taking their
place.”
The Highlanders had been
ranked as high as the mid-20’s in Division II polls
prior to the move to Division I.
(Feb. 13, 2004) - The UC
Riverside Highlanders took five-of-six singles matches to
pull out a 5-2 non-conference win at San Jose State Friday.
UCR, ranked No. 75 by the
ITA, is now 3-1, 1-0 and SJSU is now 1-3

6-1 this afternoon at the SCU Tennis Center. The Broncos'
record is now 2-3, while the Highlanders record falls to 3-2.
Michelle Beyronneau was
the Highlanders sole winner, taking the No. 1 singles match
with a 6-7, 6-2 (11-9) win over Janalle Kaoli. However, the
Broncos took courts two through six and the doubles point
to claim the match.

(Feb. 15, 2004) - The No.
75 UC Riverside Highlanders completed their three game weekend
road trip with a 4-3 win over the host Saint Mary's on Sunday.
Catrisha Cabanilla's come from behind three-set win over Anne-Joy
de Graan was the decisive win for the Highlanders
The Highlanders lost the
doubles point to open the match. Kelley Takeshita and Carolyn
Mitchell were victorious at No. 2, defeating Megan Schulman
and Dunya Stankovic, 8-3.
However, UCR had more success
in singles play, taking the No. 2, 3, 4 and 6 singles matches
to pull out the win. Casey Cross cruised at No. 2, winning
6-4, 6-3 over Kate Harde and Takeshita had an easy time at
No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Megan Schulman. At No. 4 Kim
Tran had to go three sets to defeat Kristen Kummer, 6-3, 5-7,
6-2 and Cabanilla went to the third set to defeat de Graan,
4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
The Highlanders went 2-1
in the three day Bay Area road trip.

weather has affected both UC Riverside’s tennis teams.
The men’s team will not be playing its match at home
against Cal Poly on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. The match
has been postponed and is rescheduled for Saturday, February
28 at the Student Recreation Center at 9 a.m. The match on
Sunday, February 22 at home against UCSD is pending. First
serve is set for noon.
The women’s team will not be playing its match at Cal
Poly on Saturday, February 21. No make up date has been set
yet. The match on Sunday, February 22 at Cal State Northridge
is pending with the contest set at noon.

The heavy rains hitting Southern
California prevented the UC Riverside men's and women's tennis
teams from competing as scheduled Sunday.
For the second straight
day, the rains effected the matches of both teams. Today the
men were scheduled to host UC San Diego at the Student Recreation
Center and the women were to face Cal State Northridgeon the
road.
Both competitions will be
reschduled for a later date.
Yesterday, the men's home
match against Cal Poly was cancelled and the women's road
match against Cal Poly was cancelled.
The men's match against
Cal Poly was rescheduled for Saturday, February 28 at the
Student Recreation Center at 9 a.m. The women's will reschedule
their match against the Mustangs later in the season.
(Mar. 5, 2004) - The No.
75 UC Riverside Highlanders won the doubles point, but were
swept in singles by No. 63 Long Beach State University in
a conference match at the UCR Tennis Courts Friday.
UCR (4-3, 1-1) got off to
a quick start with a pair of wins in doubles play. Michelle
Beyronneau and Casey Cross won at No. 1 doubles, 8-5 over
Nicole Bouffler and Sandra Rocha, and Kim Tran and Catrisha
Cabanilla were successful at No. 3 with an 8-4 win over Claudia
Argumedo and Emmanuelle Tabatruong.
However, LBSU bounced right
back and swept the six singles matches, taking them all in
two sets.

for the No. 75 UC Riverside women's tennis team's 6-1 loss
Saturday.
The Lady Rebels improved
to 7-3 overall while the Highlanders fell to 4-4.
UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one
team point. In singles play, UCR got its point from a three-set
win at No. 2.
Winning for UNLV were Gyorgyi Zsiros at No. 1, Anne Claire
Ortiz-Luis at No. 3, Cindy Treber at No. 4, Claire Smith at
No. 5, and Mery Constanti on Court Six.

(Mar. 7, 2004) - The UC Riverside
women's tennis team took care of business Sunday, sweeping
the University of Montana, 7-0, in Las Vegas.
The No. 75 Highlanders won
for the first time in three consecutive days of competition
after losing to two higher ranked opponents, Long Beach State
and UNLV.
All six singles matches
were won in two sets with Kelley Takeshita winning, 6-1, 6-0,
over Misa Zima.
The Highlanders play three
more matches this week against Gonzaga and New hampshire at
home on March 10 and March 13 and heading to Cal Poly on March
12 to make up a match postponed by rain earlier this season.

(Mar. 10, 2004) - The UC Riverside
women's tennis came back from losing the doubles point and
won four of the six singles matches to edge out visiting Gonzaga,
4-3, Wednesday afternoon.
After losing the point with
the Bulldogs winning 2-of-3 doubles matches, Casey Cross,
Kelley Takeshita, Kim Tran and Carolyn Mitchell each won their
singles matches for the Highlanders.
The Highlanders
busy week continues with a pair of matches this weekend. UCR
hits the road to face Cal Poly in a rescheduled match on Friday
and will return home to face New Hampshire on Saturday.

(Mar. 12, 2004) - The UC Riverside
women's tennis team lost a close match, 4-3, against No. 62-ranked
Cal Poly in a Big West conference match Friday afternoon at
the Mustang Courts.
The
Mustangs won all three doubles matches to claim an early 1-0
advantage.
In singles action Michelle Beyronneau defeated Cal Poly's
Samantha Walker, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 and Kim Tran took Sheila Lewis
7-6,. 6-4. Casey Cross and Chelsey Thompson battled in their
match that was decided 21-19 for Cross in the super tie breaker
set.
The
Highlanders return home to host New Hampshire on Saturday,
March 13 at the Student Recreation Center courts.

(Mar. 13, 2004) - The UC
Riverside Highlanders defeated the visiting University of
New Hampshire Wildcats, 6-1, in a non-conference match at
the UCR Tennis Courts Saturday.
UCR (7-5) won the doubles
point with a solid 3-0 effort. The teams, who were switched
up by Coach Mark Henry Friday, seemed to gel quickly. Casey
Cross and Kim Tran won at No. 1, 8-3, and Carolyn Mitchell
and Michelle Beyronneau were solid at No. 2, winning 8-2.
The No. 3 team won with a 8-0 behind Kelley Takeshita and
Catrisha Cabanilla.
In singles play, the only
blemish was Beyronneau's loss at No. 1, 6-3, 0-6 (10-4) to
Megan Breen. The rest of the squad cruised to two set victories.
New Hampshire fell to 5-4
with the loss.

the UC Riverside women’s tennis team making a clean
sweep, 7-0, over the visiting University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee
Sunday at the Student Recreation Center Courts.
The Highlanders easily handled the Panthers in both doubles
and singles.
UCR won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
Casey Cross and Kim Tran defeated Tammie Spiel and Megan Brown
8-2, Carolyn Mitchell and Michelle Beyronneau defeated Erin
Felber and Margie VanLieshout 8-2, and Kelley Takeshita and
Catrisha Cabanilla took care of Melissa Hackett and Kristen
Bauknecht 8-1.
In singles, four Highlanders won their matches in straight
sets without allowing the Panthers to earn one point. Cross,
Tran, Mitchell and Cabanilla all won 6-0, 6-0.
The closest match of the day for UWM was between the Highlanders’
Beyronneau and VanLieshout with Beyronneau winning 6-1, 7-5.
The Highlanders host Cornell on March 22 at the Student Recreation

22, 2004) - UC Riverside won the doubles point, but visiting
Cornell University won four-of-six singles matches to pull
out a 4-3 win at the Student Recreation Center Tennis Courts
in Riverside Monday.
UCR (8-6) got wins at No.
1 and No. 2 doubles, as Casey Cross and Kim Tran and Carolyn
Mitchell and Michelle Beyronneau won by identical 8-5 scores.
Beyronneau then won at No. 1 singles, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1
win over Akane Kokubo, and Cross was victorious at No. 2,
6-0, 7-5 over Laura Tallent.
But three through six proved
to be the Highlanders downfall, as Kelley Takeshita lost to
Erika Takeuchi, 7-6, 6-1, Tran fell to Kasia Preneta, 6-4,
7-5, Mitchell lost to Melissa Tu, 6-2, 6-4 and Catrisha Cabanilla
lost to Nisha Suda, 6-0, 6-4.
The Highlanders are now
off until April 4th, when they face Pacific at home

25, 2004) - Senior Kelley Takeshita was named the Big West
Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the week of February
2-8 as announced by the conference office Thursday. The Big
West announced all men’s and women’s athletes
of the week retroactively for the spring season.
During that week, Takeshita went undefeated winning both singles
and both doubles matches to help the Highlanders defeat Cal
Poly Pomona and then No. 75 ranked UC Santa Barbara. Both
wins helped UCR earn their first national ranking, breaking
in at No. 75 the following week.
The Highlanders return to action on Sunday, April 4 when they
host Pacific in Big West action at the Student Recreation
Center Tennis Courts. The match begins at 11:00 a.m.

3, 2004) - The UC Riverside women's tennis team held
on for a 4-3 win at Cal State Northridge in Big West action
Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders (9-6, 2-2 Big West) swept in doubles play
to take a quick 1-0 lead, but almost lost the match in singles
action.
The Matadors (4-15) needed to claim four of the singles matches
to pull the win, but fell fell one short of that mark.
UCR's Michelle Beyronneau and Casey Cross were winners in
the first two singles courts and Kim Tran secured the win
for UCR, outlasting Kasia Krasinska at No. 4 singles, 6-4,
1-6, 6-4.
The Highlanders host Pacific on April 4 beginning at 11:00

Riverside women's tennis team held fell to No. 70 University
of the Pacific, 5-2 at the UCR Student Recreation Center Sunday.
The Highlanders opened the
match witha win at No. 3 doubles, as Kelley Takeshita and
Catrisha Cabanilla defeated Urska Dvorsek and Nicole Sakai,
9-8. Carolyn Mitchell and Michelle Beyronneau were edged out
by Natalia Kostenko and Viktoria Hizo at No. 2, 9-8, and the
Tigers took the doubles point.
In singles play, Casey Cross
and Carolyn Mitchell posted wins at No. 2 and No. 5, respectively.
Cross defeated Katharina Heil, 6-2, 2-6, (10-6) and Mitchell
won 2-6, 6-4, (10-4). However, no other Highlander went past

(Apr. 8, 2004) - The UC
Riverside Highlanders posted a 4-3 win over the visiting Cal
State Fullerton Titans in a dual match at the Student Recreation
Center Tennis Courts in Riverside Thursday.
The match came down to No.
6 singles. Catrisha Cabanilla won the first set, 6-4, and
was leading in the second set when she was stung in the middle
of the back by a bee. After a brief timeout for the athletic
trainer to look at her, she came back to play and posted a
7-5 win over Caroline Freeman to give the match to the Highlanders.
UCR won the doubles point,
taking the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. Casey Cross and Kim Tran
posted an 8-4 win over Ruya Inalpulat and Ioana Sisoe at No.
1 , and Michelle Beyronneau and Carolyn Mitchell took No.
2, 8-6. The Highlanders were edged in No. 3 doubles, 9-8,
as Kelley Takeshi and Cabanilla fell to Gina Le and Carolyn
Freeman.
In singles play, Beyronneau
dispatched Inalpulat at No. 1, 6-2, 6-2, and Cross defeated
Le, 6-3, 6-2. For Cross, the win was her 10th straight victory
in singles dual matches. Fullerton won 3 and 4, then took
No. 5 as Mai-Ly Tran posted a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-0, 6-2
win over Carolyn Mitchell, setting up the final battle at
No. 6 between Cabanilla and Freeman.
The Highlanders move to

UC Irvine women’s tennis team defeated UC Riverside
4-0 in quarterfinal action of the Big West Women’s Tennis
Championship at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The Anteaters picked up
the doubles point after winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 spot.
Anna Bentzer and Jayme Hu defeated Michelle Beyronneau and
Carolyn Mitchell, 8-3, while Kristina Boss and Christie Posner
knocked off Kelley Takeshita and Catrisha Cabanilla by the
same score. UC Irvine finished off the Highlanders with wins
at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Bentzer rolled to a 6-1,
6-2 victory over Beyronneau at No. 1. Boss defeated Kim Tran,
6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, while Posner topped Mitchell, 6-1, 6-1

UC Irvine moves to 14-7
on the season while UC Riverside drops to 10-9. The Anteaters
are in the semifinals against the winner of top-seeded Pacific
and No. 9 seed Cal State Northridge. UCI will play at 11:00
a.m. on Saturday. The Highlanders are in the consolation bracket,
where they will play the loser of Pacific/Cal State Northridge
on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

West Women’s Tennis Championship consolation match at
the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday.
The Matadors secured the doubles point with wins at the top
two positions. The No. 1 team of Olga Yepremian and YuYu Myinttun
toppled Casey Cross and Kim Tran, 8-3. At No. 2 doubles, CSUN’s
Kasia Krasinska and Sonya Kumar won an 8-5 battle against
Michelle Beyronneau and Carolyn Mitchell.
The two teams split at the top four spots in singles. UC Riverside
won at the top two spots, with Beyronneau earning a 6-3, 6-3
triumph over Yepremian and Cross defeating Brittany Bierman,
6-2, 6-4. The Matadors responded with victories at No. 3 and
No. 4 singles. Myinttun downed Takeshita, 6-4, 6-0, while
Krasinska breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tran. The deciding
point came down to the No. 6 spot, as CSUN‚s Sayaka
Yoshimoto outlasted Catrisha Cabanilla in a three-set battle,
6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Cal State Northridge improves to 9-17 on the season while
UC Riverside falls to 10-10. The Matadors will play Idaho
for fifth place later today at 5:00 p.m. The Highlanders square
off against UC Santa Barbara for seventh place at 5:00 p.m.

Barbara took home seventh place in the Big West Women’s Tennis
Championship, defeating UC Riverside, 4-3, at the Indian Wells
Tennis Garden on Saturday.
The Gauchos won all three
doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Two matches were
tightly contested, as Andrea Pintar and Leslie Damion eked
out an 8-6 victory over Michelle Beyronneau and Carolyn Mitchell
at No. 2 doubles, while Mio Fukushima and Chelsea Dillon knocked
off Kelley Takeshita and Catrisha Cabanilla by the same score.
UC Santa Barbara and UC
Riverside split the six singles matches with only one going
to a third set. UCSB senior Jen Kuhle capped off her collegiate
career with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 win over UCR freshman Kim Tran.
Beyronneau and Cross won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the
Highlanders. Damion and Kristen Wilson were victorious at
