(April 24, 2008) - The UC Riverside women’s
tennis team picked up a 5-0 first round win over Cal State
Fullerton at the Big West Championships in Indian Wells, CA
Thursday afternoon. #8 seed UCR won five of the six matches
over the #9 seed Titans. Two singles matches were not completed.

Espiritu picked up a 8-2 in their #1 doubles match and
Nadia
and Yasaman
Sakhakorn teamed up to win their #3 doubles match to get
the Highlanders the team point with a 8-5 win.
UCR swept all four of the singles matches that
were completed as Erynne Oki, Nadia Sakhakorn, Donna
McCullogh, and Angleique
Corpuz all won their matches to give UCR four more team
points and take the overall match 5-0.
The Highlanders now match-up against #1 seed
Long Beach State in the quarterfinals set for 9 a.m. on Friday.
