(Dec.
8, 2005) - The UC Riverside women’s golf team has signed
four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, Head
Coach Paul Hjulberg announced Thursday. The four players -

Erdman (Palmdale, CA/Quartz Hill HS), Michelle Mannix (Valencia,
CA/Valencia HS), and Linda Ong (Pleasant Hill, CA/Northgate

“The
addition of these four, as well as our three returners, will
add to a solid foundation for the women’s golf team
for the next four years,” Hjulberg said. “We will
have a very young but a very good team. Our goal is to be
a serious contender for the Big West Conference Championship.”
Childers
was a team captain at Vista Murrieta HS, qualifying for the
CIF SouthernSection Individual Tournament as a freshman. In
addition to her golfing success, Childers

and league title. The niece of former LPGA player Sherry Wilder,
Erdman also competed in gymnastics and track and field for
the Rebels, ranking in the top-10 in California in the high
jump in 2005.
Mannix
helped Valencia HS to back-to-back Foothill League Championships
in 2004 and 2005, earning all-league honors each season. In
2004, she was named to the Los Angeles Daily News Team and
was the 2005 Foothill League Tournament Champion.
