(Nov. 6, 2007) –The
UC Riverside Women's Golf team won the Lamkin Cup Cal Poly
Invitational women’s golf tournament at Cypress Ridge
Golf Course Tuesday afternoon. Junior Jennifer Bermingham
won the Invitational by three strokes after a first round
68 and second round 74.
The Highlanders posited
back-to-back scores of 299 in both days to win by six strokes
over second-place Northern Arizona and Cal Poly.
Bermingham successfully
defended her individual title, following Monday’s round
of 68 with a 74 to finished the tournament with a two-under-par
142 total. She was the lone golfer in the field to finish
under par and recorded two birdies and 13 pars in her second
round Tuesday.
Sophomore Michelle Mannix
finished tied for 11th with a 151 (75,76), junior Allison
Ek finished tied for 13th with a 152 (77, 75), and sophomore
Alexandra Erdman posted a 153 (79, 74).
The Highlanders are off
until February 11th and 12th when they will compete in the
UCR Lady Braveheart Classic.
