(Feb.11, 2008) –The
UC Riverside Women's golf team finished the first day of the
Lady Braveheart Challenge in a tie for ninth with a team score
of 326 at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, CA. Sophomore
Michele Mannix finished with seven over 78 and trails first
place British Columbia's Kaitlin Troop and Cal Baptist's Adrianna
Niclotti first rounds of 72.
Other notable Highlander
first round postings were sophomore Alexandra Erdman's 81
(+9), freshman Natalie Guidry's 82 (+10), and junior Jennifer
Birmingham's 83 (+11).
Cal Poly owns a 10 stroke
lead over the other 16 competing teams after a first round
team total of 313 (+25).
The second and final round
will be played on Tuesday.
