High School: Was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track at Antelope Valley HS... ran the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in high school... helped her team to a Mt. Baldy League Championship in 2000... two time MVP in track (2000 and 2003)... set a school record in the 1,600 and in 2000 won league championships in the 3,200 and the 1,600.
Personal: Sarah Seleshi-Tesfaye was born July 1, 1985 in Pomona, CA... daughter of Seleshi Tesfaye and Karen Hughes... majoring in biological sciences/medical biology... plans to become a doctor and specialize in anesthesiology... roots for Manchester United... favorite athletes are Venus and Serena Williams, Florence Griffith Joyner and Haile Gebrsellasi... favorite author is Maya Angelou... favorite novel is The Autobiography of Malcolm X... enjoys eating injera (Ethiopian bread) and pasta... enjoys watching Law and Order SVU, Monk, and Will and Grace... favorite films are Rush Hour I and II, Million Dollar Baby, and Man on Fire... favorite musical groups are Boys II Men, Linkin Park and Michael Jackson... enjoys running and reading in her spare time... calls math professor Dr. Pamela Clute her favorite teacher at UCR... brother Solomon Seleshi Tesfaye runs cross country and track at UC Irvine.
