18, 2008) – UC Riverside took the top three spots in
the women's 800m at the 50th running of the Mt. SAC Relays
on Friday as sophomore Brenda Martinez (2:05.71), volunteer
assistant coach Sara Hall (2:05.86) and senior Lisa Lopez
(2:08.01) beat out 23 other competitors from UCLA, Notre Dame,
BYU and other top schools.
Senior Whitney Leachman
and junior Molly Russell both broke
the 12 second barrier in the 100m as Leachman finished second
in her heat with a time of 11.97 and Russell finished ninth
in her heat with a time of 11.98.
The Mt. SAC Relays are open to prep, collegiate, postgraduate,
club and open athletes, and are held at Mt. San Antonio College's
Hilmer Lodge Stadium. The final day of collegiate competition
is scheduled for Sunday, April 20.
