Bauer Breaks School Record in 10K at Mt. SAC Relays

(April 17, 2008) – UC Riverside’s Brenna Bauer set a new school record in the 10k race with a personal-best time of 37:19 in Thursday’s event at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA.

Bauer beat the previous record time of 38:14 by nearly a minute in her first ever 10K competition for the Highlanders. She also set a personal best in the 5K to go along with her record-breaking run that is the third fastest time produced in the Big West Conference this season.

“Brenna ran a couragous race for us today,” said Head Coach Irv Ray.

Also in the 10K, Jenessia Navarro ran personal best time of 38:49 for the Highlanders who continue competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday and Saturday.
