Men’s Tennis Picks Up Four Post-Season Awards

Senior Joe Cartledge picked up All-Conference honors in both Singles and Doubles.

(April 29, 2008) – The Big West Conference announced Tuesday that UC Riverside had Four All-Conference selections after producing solid 2008 seasons. Joe Cartledge was placed on the second team, the #1 doubles team of Cartledge and Ahmad Shiraz were named to the doubles-first team, and #2 doubles team of Quoac Doan/John Park received honorable mention.

Cartledge picks up his third career singles honor and third career doubles honor. It is the first career honor for Shiraz, Doan, and Park. Cartledge finished with a 10-10 record in dual events while playing at #1 singles all season long. The team of Cartledge/Shiraz played well at #1 doubles, producing a 9-7 record while competing in a very tough conference. The freshmen team of Doan and Park held their own all season, playing to a 10-6 record in #2 doubles.

UCR finished the season with a 7-14 overall record including a 4-3 victory over Big Sky Conference champion Sacramento State.
