(Jan. 24, 2008) -- Senior goalkeeper
and 2007 Big West Keeper of the Year Charles Alamo was selected
as the fourth pick of second round by the LA Galaxy in the
Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft Thursday afternoon.

Highlanders Named to Big West All-Conference Team
(November 20, 2007)-- The Big West
Conference announced it’s 2007 Men’s Soccer all-conference
team Tuesday afternoon. Five Highlanders received recognition,
as senior Charles Alamo was named Big West Goalkeeper of the
Year along with first team honors and sophomore defender David
Lozano was named to the second team.

Save Best For Last, Tie #9 UC Santa Barbara
(November 17, 2007)-- UCR produced
one of their best played matches of the season Saturday night,
playing to a 1-1 tie with defending national champion #9 UC
Santa Barbara in their final match of the season. Senior Steven
Kaufman’s second goal of the season tied the game in
the 63rd minute for UCR.

Goal Gets UCR a 1-1 Draw With UC Irvine
(November 13, 2007)-- UC Riverside
needed a late goal from senior captain Joel Crompton in the
89th minute to escape with a 1-1 tie with UC Irvine in Irvine,
CA Tuesday night.

(November 10, 2007)-- UCR lost
a tough 1-0 decision to Cal State Northridge at the UCR Soccer
Stadium Saturday afternoon.

(November 7, 2007)-- Senior keeper
Charles Alamo recorded his sixth shutout of the season as
the Highlanders beat UC Irvine 2-0 Wednesday afternoon to
pick up their first win at the UCR Soccer Stadium this season.

Davis Takes Match From Highlanders
(November 2, 2007)-- UC Riverside
dropped a 2-1 decision to the UC Davis Aggies in a Big West
Conference match-up Friday afternoon UCR Soccer Stadium. Sophomore
Xavier Perez scored the goal for UCR whose record falls to
4-5-6 overall and 1-3-4 in the Big West.

Game at UCI
(October 25, 2007)-- UC Riverside's
Big West Conference game with UC Irvine has been rescheduled
for November 13th at 7 p.m. in Irvine, CA. The match was
postponed Wednesday due to the affects of the wildfires in
Southern California.

Play #10 Santa Barbara Tough, But Fall 2-1
(October 20, 2007)-- UC Riverside
played one of their best games of the year at the UCR Soccer
Stadium Saturday afternoon, but their valiant effort fell
short as the defending national champions #10 UC Santa Barbara
took the match 2-1. Sophomore Zach Walker scored the goal
for UCR (4-4-5, 1-2-3 Big West).

Escapes With Tie After Last Second Shot
(October 17, 2007)-- UC Riverside
played to it’s school-record fifth tie of the season
in their match that finished 2-2 with Cal State Fullerton
at the UCR Soccer Stadium Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Zach
Walker’s free-kick from just inside midfield found the
back of the net to tie the match with one second left in regulation
time to send the two teams to overtime.

(October 13, 2007)-- UC Riverside
played to a 0-0 tie with Cal State Northridge on a very emotional
Saturday afternoon in Northridge, CA. Before the game the
Highlanders and Matadors honored CSUN soccer player Jay Singh
who passed away earlier in the week.

(October 11, 2007)-- Come support
the UCR men’s soccer team at RAXX Barbecue on Wednesday,
October 17 from 4-9 pm. Fifteen percent of all proceeds generated
by UCR soccer attendees reciepts will be donated to the UCR
Soccer Fund.

and Alamo Lead Highlanders to 1-0 Win Over Fullerton
(October 10, 2007)-- UC Riverside
beat Cal State Fullerton 1-0 Wednesday night in Fullerton,
CA. Sophomore Nathan Paterson scored the matches’ only
goal and senior keeper Charles Alamo made six saves to record
his third shutout of the season.

Conference announced Monday that the mens soccer match between
UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, October

(October 6, 2007)UC Riverside played
to a 2-2 tie with visiting Cal Pal Poly Saturday afternoon
at the UCR Soccer Stadium. Freshman Cito Soriano and senior
Steven Kaufman scored the goals for UCR (3-3-3, 0-1-1 Big
West) who have played to double overtime ties in three of
their last four games.

lost its conference opener, 2-1, to UC Davis Wednesday afternoon
in Davis, CA. Freshman Cito Soriano scored the lone goal for

played to 1-1 tie in double overtime against Cal State Bakersfield
at the UCR Soccer Stadium Friday afternoon. Senior Andrew

(September 9, 2007) - -UC Riverside
beat Alabama A&M 1-0 in the Mercer University Tournament
in Macon, GA Sunday afternoon. The Highlanders start the season
with a record of 3-1 for the first time in school history
since moving to Division I in 2001.

lost its first game of the season, 2-1 in overtime Friday
night to Mercer University at the Mercer University Tournament

Shut Out #21 SDSU, 2-0
(September 3, 2007) - UC Riverside
beat #21 ranked San Diego State 2-0 in San Diego, CA Saturday
afternoon. Junior captain Joel Crompton and freshman Cito
Soriano each scored goals as the Highlanders improved to 2-0
on the season for the first time since joining Division I
in 2002.

Win Season Opener 3-2
(September 12007) -Freshman Cito
Soriano got his college career off to a great start with a
goal and one assist in as the Highlanders beat Central Arkansas
3-2 in Conway, Ark on Saturday afternoon. Senior Andrew Villalobos
and sophomore Nathan Paterson each had goals for UCR in game
that featured six yellow cards.
2007 Soccer Summer ELITE
Camp Postponed
(July 5, 2007) - The 2007 UC Riverside
men's and women's ELITE soccer camps have both been postponed
until a later date due to construction at the UCR Soccer Stadium.
The camps, originally scheduled for July 9-19, will be rescheduled

Three
Players Inked to NLI for 2007
(April 13, 2007) - UC Riverside
men’s soccer has signed three players to National Letters
of Intent, UCR Head Men’s Soccer Coach Junior Gonzalez
announced Friday. Jonathan Kluz, Jon Alas and Joshua Kelly
will join the Highlanders in the fall of 2007, alongside forward
Cito Soriano, who is already on campus.
