Hillpot,
a native of Colton, fired a final-round 63 as he led the tournament
wire-to-wire. Hillpot opened the tournament Saturday with
a four-under 66 to take a four shot lead. He maintained that
advantage with a second-round 68 on Sunday before posting

13, 2005) - UC Riverside 2005 graduate Eric Riehle exited
the US Amateur Public Links championship after a first round
match play loss to Song Jeon of Korea on Wednesday at Shaker
Run Golf Club in Lebanon, Ohio.

to make the turn even with Jeon. Riehle trailed by a hole
going into the 18th but he birdied the par four to force the
playoff. After four holes of level scores, Jeon won the match
when Riehle bogeyed the par three fifth.

Monday and Tuesday's stroke play, he shot 73-74 to tie for
42nd at seven-over.

West Conference player for the Highlanders, earning First
Team honors his senior season. Riehle also helped UCR win
back-to-back conference titles, the first such trophies by
any team since UC Riverside joined NCAA Division I in 2001.
