Hillpot joins current Champions Tour rookie Mark Johnson as the event’s only five-time winners.

Wilkins, from Loma Linda, tried to keep pace with Hillpot, shooting 70-68-71 for 209. He finished three strokes in front of Rialto’s Nelson, who followed up rounds of 71 and 73 with a final round 68 to total a two-over 212.

Hillpot will continue to compete this summer as he looks to win next month’s California Amateur Championship. Wilkins will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Public Links in preparation to return to UCR in the fall.
