Results
(Nov. 7, 2007) – The
UC Riverside Men's golf team placed 14th in Turtle Bay Intercollegiate
tournament after posting a 272 Wednesday afternoon at the
Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuka, Hawaii.
UCR posted scores of 283
and 295 the previous two rounds and finished at 14-under-par.
Three Highlanders posted their best scores of the tournament
on the final day.
Senior Spencer Paschall
led the Highlanders with a 48th place finish after posting
rounds of 72, 72, and 68. Freshman Nick Paez posted a third
round 65 to finish tied for 51st. His final round score was
the third best score produced out of the 115 competitors on
the day. Sophomore Scott Clayton also finished in a tie for
51st after rounds of 74, 73, and 66. Senior Steve Solis finished
in a tie for 77th with rounds of 71, 74, 73, and sophomore
Andrew Cortez finished in a tie for 85th with rounds of 70,
76, and 74.
The Highlanders don't return
to the course until February 11th and 12th when they will
compete in the Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, UT
