(Apr. 1, 2008) – The
UC Riverisde Men’s Golf team wrapped play at the OGIO
Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Invitation hosted by the Rancho
San Marcos Golf Club in Santa Barbara, CA Tuesday afternoon.
UCR placed 10th with a
three-round team total scored of 913. Sophomore Scott Clayton
led the way for the Highlanders with a 27th place finish after
rounds of 55, 71, and 77. Sophomore Andrew Cortez finished
in 34th after his rounds of 79, 73, and 73.
Cal State Northride took
home the team title with a score of 855 and Troy Merritt from
Boise State won the individual title with a score of 199 after
rounds of 66, 68, and 65.
The Highlanders return
to the course on April 7th and 8th out at the Cowboy Classic
in Scottsdale, AZ.
