Competed in six events... finished third on the
team and sixth overall at the UCR Invitational
(9/30/06), finishing the 5K course in 17:50.90...
was third on the team and ninth overall at the
UCR Season Opener (9/1/06), covering the 4K in
14:31.0... finished second on the team and 15th
overall at the Big West Championships (10/28/06),
finishing the 6K event in 23:02.30... was third
on the team and 34th overall and the Sundodger
Invitational (9/16/06), finishing the 6K course
in 21:42.0.
2005: Redshirted for the Highlanders.
2003-2004: Attended UCR but did not compete in
any sports.
High School: Was a four-year letter winner in
cross country and track at Etiwanda HS... ran
the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in high school... helped
her team to a Mt. Baldy League Championship in
2000... two time MVP in track (2000 and 2003)...
set a school record in the 1,600 and in 2000 won
league championships in the 3,200 and the 1,600.
Personal: Sarah Seleshi Tesfaye is the daughter
of Seleshi Tesfaye and Karen Hughes... majoring
in biological sciences/medical biology... plans
to become a doctor and specialize in anesthesiology...
