2006: Competed in six events... finished fourth on the team and 44th overall at the Big West Championships (10/28/06), covering 8K in 29:32.80... was fifth on the team and 27th overall at the UCR Invitational (9/30/06), finishing the 8K course in 25:42.90.
2005: Finished 72nd in 28:49.6 at the CS Fullerton Opener (9/3/05)... finished 40th in 26:45.6 at the UCR Invitational (10/1/05)... finished 157th in 27:07.5 at the Drews/Neubauer Invitational (10/15/05)... finished 47th in 26:29.5 at the Big West Championship (10/29/05).
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner in cross country under Coach Mike Fillipow and in track under Joe Carlson at Long Beach Poly... helped the team to four league championships in each program... won the Moore League Championship in the 800 in 2005 and earned the CIF Sportsmanship Award... graduated with honors and received the Pursuit of Excellence Award, the school’s highest honor.
Personal: Pedro Ramos is the son of Agustin and Rosa Ramos... majoring in political science... hopes to become a lawyer... roots for the Los Angeles Lakers... favorite author is John Steinbeck... favorite novel is “Of Mice and Men”... enjoys eating Chinese food... favorite television show is the Simpsons... favorite movie is “Forrest Gump”... favorite musical group is Coldplay... enjoys going to movies... is the first in his family to attend college... was among the athletes featured when Sports Illustrated named Long Beach Poly the Best High School Program in the country in May 2005.
