Competed in six events... finished fifth overall
and second on the team over a 5K course at the
UCR Invitational (9/30/06) in 17:44.10... was
third on the team and 77th overall at the Chili
Pepper Invitational in 22:19.20 over 6K... was
third on the team and 62nd overall at the NCAA
West Regional (11/11/06), finishing the 6K course
in 22:58.72.
2005: Finished 10th overall and first on the team
in 21:43.5 at the Big West Championship (10/29/05)...
finished 84th overall and first on the team in
21:03.9 at the CS Fullerton Opener (9/3/05)...
finished 13th overall and first on the team in
14:52 at the Stanford Invitational (9/24/05)...
finished sixth overall and first on the team in
17:55.1 at the UCR Invitational (10/1/05)... finished
fifth overall and first on the team in 21:57 at
the Drews/Neubauer Invitational (10/15/05)...
finished 47th overall and first on the team in
21:39.6 at the NCAA West Regionals, setting the
school record for the 6K (11/12/05)... finished
first on the team in every race during the season.
High School: was a four-year letterwinner in track
and cross country at Rancho Cucamonga HS under
Coach Carlton Austen... school record holder in
the 1,600 (4:55), 800 (2:16), two mile (11:12),
three mile (17:28)... ran with the West Coast
Gazelle Track Club.
Personal: Brenda Saucedo Martinez is the daughter
of Andres and Rosa Maria Martinez... majoring
in sociology and law... would like to become a
district attorney investigator... roots for the
Chivas of the Mexican Soccer league... favorite
athletes are Florence Griffith Joyner and Jackie
Joyner Kersey... favorite writers are Anne Rice
and Ernest Hemingway... favorite novels are “The
