(Feb. 28, 2008) - The
UC Riverside Mens Cross Country team earned Academic All-American
honors by the USTFCCCA after the team posted a 3.003 team
GPA for the Fall semester.
The Highlanders are one
of 98 Cross Country teams in the nation and one of only seven
schools in the State of California to receive the honor. There
are 299 total schools nationwide that sponsor men’s
cross country teams.
For a team to be considered
for the United State Track and Field Cross Country Coaches
Association Academic All-American Team, they must have competed
and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The Team
must also have a minimun 3.00 team cumulative grade point
average.
